Peppa is a professional photographer and lens-based artist, gallerist, curator, art consultant and independent writer on art and culture.
Actively engaged with photography for 40+ years, Peppa is the founder and director of Truth and Beauty, (est. 2006) a commercial studio and gallery of contemporary photography.
Occupying the 1909 Edwardian heritage-designated Foley Building, Truth and Beauty Gallery is a commercial art gallery devoted to the exhibition, consideration and appreciation of the photographic form.
In addition to a slate of events, the gallery represents the work of 69 independent, international photographers, with prints available both at the gallery and online in the Print Room. The gallery is a resource for limited and open edition prints; monographs, books and portfolios; holds talks, instructional lectures and workshops; and participates in civic arts festivals. Peppa also conducts portfolio reviews and critiques for individual photographers, groups and review festivals, and advises on career objectives and development. As an extension of the Vancouver gallery, Truth and Beauty Digital is a second, virtual space for regular online exhibitions.
In the Studio, Peppa undertakes photographic art projects, corporate and personal commissions.

A Brief History of the Foley Building :
The building was erected in 1909 by J.B. Foley, a local realtor. The corner commercial unit at 698 West 16th was a grocery or confectionery store continuously from 1911 until the mid 1990s. The first store was the Samuel Barker and Sons grocery store. This was followed by a string of grocers until 1914 when it became the Heather Market, and then in 1930 the Heather Confectionery. From 1940-1965 the Beckett family operated the Heather Confectionery which became Beckett's Red and White from 1960-1970. Once the Beckett family moved from both the residential unit and the store, the Chow family's Golden Star Grocery and subsequently the Kim family's Olympic Grocery carried on the store tradition.
